How to request a replacement for a registration certificate that is full

Principle and conditions
At the time of the annual renewal of the registration of your vehicle, if your registration certificate no longer has space available to affix this year's stamp, you can request a replacement as soon as you receive the stamp.
Similarly, during a technical inspection of your vehicle, if your registration certificate no longer has space available to affix the stamp mentioning the valid duration of the technical inspection, you can request a replacement.
There is no charge for this procedure.
Formulating the request
The request must be sent to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office using the appropriate form, duly completed and signed.
The form may be:
- Downloaded online: Various requests (385-0021_03-2020)
- Collected from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office
Collating the documents
The request must be accompanied by the following documents:
- The original copy of the registration certificate
- A copy of a valid ID document (ID card or national passport with proof of address, or residence permit) or a copy of an extract from the Trade and Industry Registry dated of less than 3 months
Submitting the application
You should submit the complete application without appointment to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office. A payment receipt will be issued, and the registration certificate that is full, the validity of which will be extended for 15 days to enable the vehicle to be driven while a new registration certificate is being issued, will be handed over.
Collecting the certificate of registration
The new certificate of registration is available within 72 hours at the reception desk of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office on presentation of the payment receipt.
