Principle and conditions
This allowance is granted to the mother or adoptive mother of any child of Monegasque nationality or who is likely to acquire it by declaration in accordance with the provisions of the Act no. 1.155 of 18 December 1992 amended.
The amount of the assistance is equal to 1.40 times the amount of the Caisse Autonome des Retraites' (The Independent Pensions Fund) base salary.
The allowance is paid in a single instalment on written request.
Applying for the childbirth allowance
A standard letter template is provided by the Mairie (Town Hall - Civil Registry) on declaration of birth.
This letter should be sent to the Department of Social Welfare and Social Services, along with a copy of the child’s certificate of nationality and birth certificate.
The application must be made within three years of the birth or the court's decision decreeing the adoption of the child.
