Principle and conditions
If you intend to travel abroad in order to develop your foreign language skills, you may apply for a foreign language development grant from the Department of Education, Youth and Sport.
These grants are available to school pupils (aged 11 or over) and university students:
- Monegasque national
- Spouse of a Monegasque national
- Dependant of a monegasque national
- One of whose parents is a civil servant
- Resident for at least 10 years
Monegasque national
For stays of less than two months

Providing the administrative supporting documents
You must provide:
- A request on plain paper
- The form from the Department of Education, duly completed and signed
- For pupils in private education in or outside Monaco: a certificate of registration stating which course will be followed during the current academic year (English +, European Studies or International Option of the baccalaureate)
- For students in higher education: a registration certificate (or photocopy of student card) for the current academic year
- A pre-registration certificate for the language school, stating the number of language class hours per week (provision of this information is obligatory)
- An extract from the applicant's birth certificate (for new applicants only)
- A certificate of nationality (for new applicants only)
- Proof of bank details (IBAN)

Submitting the application
Applicants are asked to note that applications should be sent to the Department of Education, Youth and Sport before 31 July of the year in which the application is made.
A grace period will be granted until 14 August, subject to a penalty of 10% of the total value of the grant.
