Returning from abroad

Any person, whatever their nationality, who wishes to enter the Principality and is travelling from either:

  • A country outside the European Area
  • A region of a country in the European Area for which the cumulative incidence over 14 days is more than 60 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, (see the red and dark orange areas on the map www.ecdc.europa.eu )

must contact the COVID-19 Call Centre (which can be reached on 92 05 55 00 from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm from Monday to Friday or at covid19@gouv.mc ) on arrival in Monegasque territory and provide the following information:

  • First name and Surname
  • Nationality
  • Place of residence or address in the Principality
  • Occupation
  • Place of origin
  • Date of departure, date of return/arrival
  • Telephone number
  • Email address

 

The persons concerned must either:

  • Provide proof of a negative PCR test result, carried out in their country of origin less than 72 hours before their arrival in the Principality
  • Or have a PCR test once they arrive in the Principality, they will be required to self-isolate while awaiting the test result

 

The PCR test must be carried out in a medical biology laboratory (a laboratory situated in the Principality of Monaco or mentioned on the following list: sante.fr/DepistageCovid ).

In the event of a positive PCR test or refusal to take a test, quarantine measures will be imposed.

The Department of Health Affairs will make a decision, as quickly as possible, on the action to be taken by the person concerned:

  • Return to work or self-isolation
  • Decision to place in quarantine by the Director of Health Affairs

 

As concerns hotel stays

Any person, regardless of their nationality, who is temporarily staying in a hotel in the Principality and is travelling from either:

  • A country outside the European Area
  • A region of a country in the European Area for which the cumulative incidence over 14 days is more than 60 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, (see the red and dark orange areas on the map www.ecdc.europa.eu )

If the person has not taken a PCR test, or if the test result dates from more than 72 hours before their scheduled arrival, access to the hotel will be denied.

If the person has been ill while travelling, presents as unwell, or if the PCR test is positive, they will be asked to self-isolate in their room.

Note that, in the event of a positive PCR test, a decision to impose quarantine will be taken by the Director of Health Affairs.

If symptoms develop

In the event that symptoms develop, everyone covered by this procedure should be invited to contact the COVID-19 Call Centre immediately on 92.05.55.00 from 9 am to 6 pm, or to call 18 or 112 outside these hours.
