Principle and conditions

The owner of a vehicle registered in the Principality must notify the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office if the vehicle is sold.

Obtaining and completing the form

To get this form, you can either:

 The procedure varies depending on the country of destination of the vehicle.

Submitting the form

If the person who buys your vehicle wishes to register it in Monaco, you must also provide:

  • The bill of sale
  • The registration plates
  • The registration certificate

The buyer must also be physically present and must follow the procedure for the request to register a vehicle in the Principality.

No cancellation or withdrawal can be accepted by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office beyond one month from the date of the return of the number plates.

Submitting the form

If the person who buys your vehicle wishes to register it in France, you must provide:

  • The bill of sale
  • The registration plates
  • The registration certificate 

You should also submit the application for registration abroad form. To obtain this form you can:

The buyer will then be issued with a certificate enabling him to obtain a French registration certificate, valid as title clearance.

No cancellation or withdrawal can be accepted by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office beyond one month from the date of the return of the number plates.

If the person who buys your vehicle wishes to register it in foreign countries other than France, you must provide:

  • The bill of sale
  • The registration plates
  • The registration certificate 

You should also submit the application for registration abroad form. To obtain this form you can:

The buyer will then be issued with a registration certificate for export.

N.B.: Any export to Italy must be accompanied by an application for an Apostille (document legalisation)
