Retrace your steps

If you have lost something in Monaco, first of all, retrace your steps to see if you can find it. If you have lost an ID card in Monaco, you should make a declaration that it has been lost or stolen to Police Department. If you cannot find the item, wait for a few days before going to the Lost Property Office.

If You Have Lost Something in the Street

You should go to the nearest Police station or the Lost Property Office.

If You Have Lost Something on the Bus

Contact Monaco Bus Company (97.70.22.22) first, then the Lost Property Office.

If You Have Lost Something on a Train at the Railway Station

Contact the station manager (04.89.24.72.68)

If You Have Lost Something in a Private Establishment (such as a hotel or private gallery)

Contact the reception of the establishment.

Look for the item

If your name is on the item

You can:

  • Make a request by e-mail using the link "Send us an e-mail" at the top of this section
  • Phone the Lost Property Office

If your address is on the item, you will automatically be sent a message informing you that it has been handed in.

If your name is not on the item

You can:

  • Make a request by e-mail using the link "Send us an e-mail" at the top of this section
  • Write to the Lost Property Office

Collecting the item

You should go to the Lost Property Office with:

  • Proof of ID
  • A declaration that the item has been lost or stolen

If someone else is collecting the item for you, he or she must show:

  • Proof of authority to collect it for you
  • Proof of his or her ID
  • A photocopy of your ID document
