A dangerous substance can be a threat to humans, goods and/or the environment by way of its physico-chemical and toxicological properties or because of the reactions it can produce.

Different modes of transport

Consequences of an accident

  • An explosion
  • A fire
  • A toxic cloud
  • Pollution of air, land and water

Signalling systems currently used

 

 

 

In the event of an accident

In the event of a major accident surrounding the transport of dangerous substances which would require confinement, you will be alerted using the national emergency code (a siren).
