Principle and conditions

You will need a certificate of accommodation to apply for a Schengen visa from the French Authorities.  This visa enables nationals of a country that does not belong to the European Economic Area to stay as a "tourist" for three months or less in the Principality of Monaco.

To obtain this certificate, you must prove that you have accommodation or an "invitation" to the Principality of Monaco.

1

Obtaining and completing the form

To get this form, you can either:

  • Or collect it from the Residents Section of Police Department.

2

Collating the documents

You must provide :

  • The application form for the Certificate of Accommodation for a Stay as a Tourist
  • The lease or ownership deed of the apartment
  • The residence permit or ID of the person providing the accommodation
  • A copy of your ID card

3

Sign the Certificate at the Residents Section

The request must be handed in at the Residents Section in the presence of the person providing the accommodation.

This person must sign the certificate in duplicate in the presence of the officer to whom you have given the documents, so that the signature can be officially certified.

After a 48-hour checking period, you will be issued with a Certificate of Accommodation for a Stay as a Tourist on payment of 5 € for certification of the signature.

4

Validating the Certificate at the Consulate General of France

To obtain a Schengen visa, you must have the Certificate of Accommodation for a Stay as a Tourist validated by the Consulate General of France of your place of residence.
